How Much Does a Trip to Morocco Cost? A 2026 Budget Breakdown

Morocco is inexpensive next to Europe or North America, but the range between a backpacker trip and a private-guided one is wide. Here is what the main costs look like in 2026, and roughly what a week adds up to at three different travel styles. Prices are per person and exclude international flights unless stated.

The Short Answer

Budget travel runs about €40–70 a day, mid-range about €100–180 a day, and comfort or private-tour travel €250 a day and up. A one-week mid-range trip lands around €900–1,400 per person before flights.

Flights

From Europe, return fares run roughly €50–250 depending on season and how far ahead you book. From North America, expect $500–1,100. Marrakech has the widest budget-airline network; Casablanca is the main long-haul hub — our departure city guide compares the gateways.

Accommodation

A hostel dorm bed is €10–18. A room in a nice riad — a traditional courtyard house — is typically €45–100 with breakfast. Luxury riads and converted kasbahs run €150–500 a night.

Food

Street food and a bowl of harira soup cost €2–4. A sit-down tagine or couscous in a mid-range restaurant is €6–12. Upscale dining in Marrakech or a riad tasting menu is €30 and up. Mint tea and bottled water are cheap everywhere.

Getting Around

Intercity CTM and Supratours buses are comfortable and cost a few euros; the train between Casablanca, Rabat, Fes and Marrakech is similarly priced. Shared grands taxis are cheapest of all. A hire car is about €30 a day plus fuel. The biggest variable is a private driver-guide, which is what turns a cheap trip into a mid-to-high one.

Tours

A shared group desert tour from Marrakech starts near €95 for three days. A private multi-day tour — your own vehicle, driver-guide, riads, breakfasts and some dinners — usually works out to €120–250 per person per day, lower as group size rises and in the low season. Smaller Costs

Monument entry fees are €1–7. A local SIM with data is about €5. Tips — for guides, drivers and restaurant staff — add up to maybe €5–10 a day. Camel treks and desert-camp nights are normally bundled into tour prices.
